About Us
Houston Random Acts of Kindness
Event Organizer, Treveia Dennis who has lost two sons and a brother, and her husband David Dennis, who lost his mother and sister, knows just how powerful a kind word or thoughtful gesture can be.
Today takes the strength gained from hurt to begin a campaign to help others. With an official proclamation from Houston’s former Mayor Annise Parker and current Mayor Sylvester Turner, the Dennis’s and their team of volunteers and local businesses annually celebrates Houston’s official Random Acts of Kindness Day on July 25th.
The effort is to engage businesses, schools, churches, individuals and organizations to promote empathy and compassion through random acts of kindness. To deliver a message of hope by following the lead of those who have impacted change with far fewer resources. Quote, “In a sea of despair, in the face of adversity, and at the brink of hopelessness there are countless individuals that shed light through tunnels of darkness with the simplest acts of kindness. Through the kindness of others positive change is created.”
